Beauty Things I've Tried Recently

Kat Von D Liquid Eyeliner  *5*

I was recommended this eyeliner by a coworker because she knows I wear liquid eyeliner every single day forever and ever.  I practiced oh so many weeks to get my perfect cat eye and I shall never stop doing it (the secret is to draw on an outline for yourself in a pencil then put the liner over it- eventually you'll get so used to the motion you won't need the pencil anymore).  Kat Von D's eyeliner is great because it goes on smooth.  (Much unlike Sephora's waterproof eyeliner which I am also currently using.  The non-waterproof one is good, but the waterproof one is so watery you have to go over it a couple times which might mess up your line.)

Anyways, unfortunately for me I guess my skin is sensitive (actually IT IS, there's no guessing there) and Kat Von D's burns slightly when I put it on.  Heaven forbid I ever get it in my eye.  By the time it dries (in like three seconds) it's fine, but definitely won't be buying it again.  The Sephora (regular non-waterproof) one is cheaper and non burning- all I need in life.
PS KVD's brush is also a little thin so is a little harder to put on for non liquid eyeliner experts.

Clinique Moisturizer  *9*

My mom gets these all of the time in gift bags and gives them to me.  Which is funny because she always tells me my face is greasy and to wash it more often, NOT moisturize it.  But what took me FOREVER (and I mean forever and ever and ever twenties quarter century forever) is that my skin isn't greasy it's dry.  To overcompensate for the dryness my skin makes oil which makes my face greasy.  WTF.  Life turned around.  So I started reading all of these beauty blogs for my job and convinced myself I am old enough to start moisturizing morning and night (especially because it's rapidly becoming the arctic outside in New York).

And VIOLA.  Skin so much happier.  I put it on when I get out of the shower in the morning and after I wash my face at night and now a month later have happier less shiny skin (I actually saw a difference a couple days after I started doing it).  The world is my oyster of irritation and scaly free bliss.

ok not that cray
PS I recommend you keep it within a reaching distance (i.e. where you do your makeup in the morning or by your bed at night because it gets really hard to cross a room and go look for your face moisturizer when you want to go to bed or are running late in the morning).

Crest Noticeably White Whitestrips *8*

Holiday parties are upon us and I decided to be shallow this year and try teeth whitening strips.  So what I have learned from half a box (so far) is the following-
1. it is incredibly hard to carve out a half an hour of your time to walk around your house with these strips on (call me crazy)
2. when the strips are actually in my mouth it became a crazy saliva haven that I had to constantly spit into the sink to avoid it dribbling down my chin (attractive)
3. when the strips first come off two half sections on my front teeth are whiter than the rest of the teeth and really freaked me out at first (is it staying like that?!) but eventually fade in like 15 minutes.
4. my teeth are getting whiter, which is the whole point right?  the product works.

almost xtina.  almost.
