So I went out and bought a bunch of ball ornaments, strung them with floss, and stuck them to our ceiling with tape. Viola.

Beau Date Friday: Nothin Fancy Because My Feet Hurt
I had a fancy-ish holiday party to go to on Wednesday and I thought it would be awesome sauce if I walked there (nyc walk there, so we are talking 10 blocks) and stood there for five hours in heels.
Feet say three hours in-
So here we are two days later and when my feet even get near the same heels again they go-
Feet say three hours in-
Uggs it is guys. Uggs it is.

Beau Date Friday: Santa Baby
(...... and when I mean Santa Baby. I mean Santa baby.)
..... ok Gosling isn't really dressed as Santa (and what movie is this?) but whatever, he always counts.
Santa baby, slip a sable under the tree, for me
(so I can look this fantastic by said tree)
I've been an awful good girl
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight
Santa baby, an out-of-space convertible too, light blue
(preferably with all of these men in it too)
I'll wait up for you dearSanta baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight
Think of all the fun I've missed
Think of all the fellas that I haven't kissed
(what the hell was that?)
Next year I could be oh so good
If you'd check off my Christmas list
Boo doo bee doo
Santa honey, I wanna yacht and really that's
Not a lot
(actually you can just skip that one)
I've been an angel all year
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight
Santa cutie, there's one thing I really do need, the deed
To a platinum mine
(that include dwarfs that rhyme?)
Santa cutie, and hurry down the chimney tonight
Santa baby, I'm filling my stocking with a duplex, and checks
Sign your 'X' on the line
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight
Come and trim my Christmas tree
With some decorations bought at Tiffany's
(Liz approves)
I really do believe in you
Let's see if you believe in me
Boo doo bee doo
Santa baby, forgot to mention one little thing, a ring
I don't mean a phone
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight
Hurry down the chimney tonight
Hurry down the chimney tonight
(xoxo)

Beauty Things I've Tried Recently
Kat Von D Liquid Eyeliner *5*
I was recommended this eyeliner by a coworker because she knows I wear liquid eyeliner every single day forever and ever. I practiced oh so many weeks to get my perfect cat eye and I shall never stop doing it (the secret is to draw on an outline for yourself in a pencil then put the liner over it- eventually you'll get so used to the motion you won't need the pencil anymore). Kat Von D's eyeliner is great because it goes on smooth. (Much unlike Sephora's waterproof eyeliner which I am also currently using. The non-waterproof one is good, but the waterproof one is so watery you have to go over it a couple times which might mess up your line.)
Anyways, unfortunately for me I guess my skin is sensitive (actually IT IS, there's no guessing there) and Kat Von D's burns slightly when I put it on. Heaven forbid I ever get it in my eye. By the time it dries (in like three seconds) it's fine, but definitely won't be buying it again. The Sephora (regular non-waterproof) one is cheaper and non burning- all I need in life.
PS KVD's brush is also a little thin so is a little harder to put on for non liquid eyeliner experts.
Clinique Moisturizer *9*
My mom gets these all of the time in gift bags and gives them to me. Which is funny because she always tells me my face is greasy and to wash it more often, NOT moisturize it. But what took me FOREVER (and I mean forever and ever and ever twenties quarter century forever) is that my skin isn't greasy it's dry. To overcompensate for the dryness my skin makes oil which makes my face greasy. WTF. Life turned around. So I started reading all of these beauty blogs for my job and convinced myself I am old enough to start moisturizing morning and night (especially because it's rapidly becoming the arctic outside in New York).
And VIOLA. Skin so much happier. I put it on when I get out of the shower in the morning and after I wash my face at night and now a month later have happier less shiny skin (I actually saw a difference a couple days after I started doing it). The world is my oyster of irritation and scaly free bliss.
PS I recommend you keep it within a reaching distance (i.e. where you do your makeup in the morning or by your bed at night because it gets really hard to cross a room and go look for your face moisturizer when you want to go to bed or are running late in the morning).
Crest Noticeably White Whitestrips *8*
Holiday parties are upon us and I decided to be shallow this year and try teeth whitening strips. So what I have learned from half a box (so far) is the following-
1. it is incredibly hard to carve out a half an hour of your time to walk around your house with these strips on (call me crazy)
2. when the strips are actually in my mouth it became a crazy saliva haven that I had to constantly spit into the sink to avoid it dribbling down my chin (attractive)
3. when the strips first come off two half sections on my front teeth are whiter than the rest of the teeth and really freaked me out at first (is it staying like that?!) but eventually fade in like 15 minutes.
4. my teeth are getting whiter, which is the whole point right? the product works.

Food I am Thankful For: Gobble Gobble Edition
1. Greek Yogurt- whether it be granola, honey, berries, or whipped cream (yes, I tried it), this lovely delectable has deterred me many a days from having ice cream (my favorite) for breakfast. Here's to you slightly healthier option!!
2. Granola Bars- yeah I know they are kind of the worst and not a go to snack, BUT when you are at work at the end of the day STARVING because you are asked to stay late: granola bars. They have the little push-you-through till the end, and you can just keep them in your purse. My favorites- Trader Joe's Cranberry Walks Into A Bar (or pumpkin, or fig, or apple, or blueberry), Cliff Bar Crunch Peanut Butter, Pret A Manger Apricot Bars (that's not what they are actually called but they're the granola bar they carry with the apricot glaze or whatever).
3. Ordering Take Out (because it's a super thing now)- I let myself order take out once a week (lie). Ok twice a week (better). Ok three times a week when I haven't gone grocery shopping (best). And with places like Seamless and Grubhub and all of those subway advertisements, I am lead to believe that everyone is doing it and I'm not spending tons of money ordering out (totally am, should just buy groceries and make my own dinner). But you know what the best is? Having leftovers so you can squeeze one or two extra meals out of that shit load of Indian food you just ordered.
stop judging me Harry, you got to got to go to Hogwarts where elves make baller food for you all day every day
4. Eating Pumpkin Pie for every meal- I like to bake and I'm all about pumpkin pie. Tis the season for pumpkin pie- I can technically stretch it from mid October to New Years! When I make one (i.e. when the canned pumpkin shows up in grocery stores (PS I've tried it with real pumpkin and I can't taste the difference!)) I eat it for all meals because it isn't too sweet to not be considered a breakfast pastry and is technically a vegetable(?) for lunch and dinner consumption. And whipped cream is the dairy. I really need to get better eating habits.
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

5. All Holiday Drinks Everywhere (and snacks!)- Starbucks, Jamba Juice, all restaurants, Trader Joes I mean everywhere has a special holiday something. It's like a menu expansion just when you started to get sick of everything else on it. Ya-hoo gingerbread everything.
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
